Newquay has a whole host of annual events - whether it's something for the family or an action packed surf festival.

Here are some of the highlights for 2008:

Run to the Sun

A 3 day party that brings thousands of classic VW beetles and Campers to Newquay, and 3 top club nights in a row with lines ups you don’t want to miss.

Fat Face Night Surf

Part of the Fat Face extreme night series, the Night Surf brings world-class surfers under the floodlights alongside the ultimate family-friendly beach party.

Veuve Clicquot Polo on the Beach
Come and witness the thrilling contest between the mounted teams vying for the Veuve Cicquot Polo title, culminating in an epic post polo party with champagne cocktails and live music.

Madagascan Nights

Special animal encounters, talks and games based around Newquay Zoo's Madagascan animals. Enjoy an evening barbecue plus other tasty food selections in the relaxing sub-tropical lakeside gardens.

Beach Football Festival
An event that will go down a storm with the kids and adults alike. With school footie training during the day and top teams competing on the golden sands.

A vibrant affair that fills the streets with colour and entertainment.

White Stuff Surf Relief UK Day

This one day beach festival combines pro-surfing with live music in aid of the charity Surf Relief UK.

RNLI Lifeboat Day
A festival for the whole family. Watch lifeboat launches and helicopter demonstrations, the heroics of the RNLI in action.

Ripcurl Boardmasters Unleased
Europe's biggest surf, skate and music festival brings the WQS surfing event to Newquay, along with 7 nights of bands on Fistral Beach.

RFU Beach Rugby Tournament

The final of the National Beach Rugby Series sees teams from across the country battle it out on the golden sands of Lusty Glaze Beach. Good food, live music and fireworks.

Zapcat King of the Surf Rounds at Watergate Bay Cornwall

Zapcat King of the Surf Grand Prix

Check out the only leg of the Zapcat circuit that takes place on a surfing beach and witness these super-powered, twin-hulled catamarans leap and twist out of the water.
