Towan Beach (central Newquay)

Deckchair on the beach at NewquayTowan is the closest beach to Newquay town centre, located adjacent to the harbour entrance and often referred to as "Town Beach". The proximity to the town and easy access makes it very busy during the summer (steep hill down to the beach).

The beach commands a sheltered position, a good expanse of sand and rocks as well as a seawater pool, restrictions on surfing in the summer months make this an ideal family beach for sunbathing and swimming. Towan Island is connected to the cliffs by Newquay's famous suspension bridge.
